It states that a ransomware software named Medusa is targeting people. It has been carrying out such attachments since 2021 and it has targeted a large number of people in recent days. & Nbsp;

According to Warning of American agencies, Medusa uses several fishing campaigns for data theft. It operates a site where data is posted after theft. With this, the countdown starts. If an affected user does not pay the money until the countdown is over, then its data is leaked. Warning states that 10,000 US dollars are being demanded from the affected user to increase the countdown time one day. Since February till now it has targeted more than 300 people working in the fields of medical, education, legal, insurance and technology etc.. & Nbsp;

Rainmware attacks are made for money

Data theft or data is encrypted for money in ransomware attack. Till the money is not received, that data is kept encrypt. However, there is no guarantee that the encryption on the data will be removed after getting the money. Many such cases have been reported in the last few years.

How to avoid such attacks?

To avoid ransomware attack, it is advisable to continuously update the operating system, software and firmware. Along with this, it is asked to use multi-factor authentication for all services like email. Always use long passwords to protect against such attacks and keep changing the password after regular intervals. Apart from this, keeping the data backup can also save money in such cases.
